Some artists on I Got A Gig run a text list, so their people hear about shows first. Here’s exactly how it works, whether you’re the fan or the artist.
On an artist’s page you’ll see their sign-up word and their number — text that word (their keyword) to that number and you’re on the list. You’ll get one confirmation text back:
[Artist] Updates: You’re in. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel.
That’s the deal, in full. Signing up is always your choice — it’s never required to see shows, tip, or do anything else on the site.
Show announcements, and that’s it. They look like:
[Artist]: Tipitina’s, Fri Jun 12, 9pm. Reply STOP to opt out.
Message frequency varies with the artist’s gig schedule — a busy month means a few texts, a quiet month might mean none. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your phone plan.
Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message, any time. You’re off the list immediately, and you won’t hear from that artist’s list again unless you re-join.
For help with the text service, email help@igotagig.com. The fine print lives in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — including what we do with your number (short version: send you the texts you asked for, and nothing else).
Still stuck? Email help@igotagig.com — you'll get a person.
