Terms of Service

I Got a Gig LLC

Effective Date: June 24, 2026   Last Updated: August 28, 2026

Welcome. These Terms of Service govern your use of I Got a Gig (igotagig.com), the platform operated by I Got a Gig LLC. By using the site — whether as an early-access subscriber, a musician subscriber, a fan who has opted in to show notifications, or a visitor — you agree to these terms.

If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

We've written these in plain language because we'd rather you actually read and understand them. If something is unclear, email us at hello@igotagig.com and we'll explain it in plain English.

Your use of I Got a Gig is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

1. About I Got a Gig

I Got a Gig LLC ("I Got a Gig," "we," "us," "our") is a Louisiana limited liability company based in New Orleans. We operate a service that helps working musicians automate their show announcements — updating their artist page, submitting to local music calendars (including WWOZ and OffBeat), and notifying fans via SMS — all from a single text message.

Current status: The platform is live. Artist pages, the SMS cascade, fan text lists, and paid subscriptions are all in operation; some features continue to roll out and may be offered to subscribers in phases. The sections about paid subscriptions and SMS only bind a user once they actually subscribe to a plan or opt in to fan SMS.

The platform serves the following groups of users:

  • Early-access subscribers: People who submit the homepage signup form to receive launch and product announcements.
  • Musicians (Subscribers): Customers — on the free tier or a paid plan — who use the platform to maintain their artist page and automate show distribution.
  • Fans (SMS Subscribers): People who have opted in to receive show announcements from a specific musician.

These Terms apply to all of them, and to general visitors of the site.

2. Musician Subscription Terms

2.1 Eligibility

To subscribe as a musician, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a human being (no bots, scripts, or automated account creation)
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete account information

2.2 Account Access

Your account is operated primarily through your registered mobile phone number and, for certain features, secure links we send you. You are responsible for maintaining control of that phone number and any access links, and for all activity that occurs through them. If your phone number changes, or you believe someone else is texting our system from your number or using your access links, notify us immediately at help@igotagig.com. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized account access that you failed to report promptly.

2.3 Subscription Tiers and Pricing

The current subscription structure for the I Got a Gig platform is below. Current pricing and full feature details are always available at igotagig.com/pricing. Early-access participants may receive different pricing or phased feature access while features roll out.

Tier Price What's Included
Plug Free Artist page at igotagig.com, text-in show updates, tip jar, directory listing
Signal $15/month Everything in Plug, plus the press cascade (WWOZ and OffBeat submissions), a fan text list (up to 250 subscribers), a dedicated phone number and keyword, and the gig chat
Headliner $35/month Everything in Signal, plus immediate cascade submission (Signal rides the digest cycle), a larger fan list cap (up to 1,000 subscribers), featured directory placement, and priority support

Prices, features, and tier names are subject to change with notice. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price changes at least 30 days in advance. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period.

2.4 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payment is processed at the start of each billing period through Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor (stripe.com/privacy). We do not store your credit card number on our servers.

Listed prices do not include tax. Applicable sales tax (including Louisiana state and local sales tax, where required) is calculated and added at checkout.

2.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access to the platform through the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, except as described in Section 2.6.

To cancel, contact us at help@igotagig.com or use the cancellation option in your account settings.

2.6 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you are unsatisfied with I Got a Gig for any reason within your first 30 days as a subscriber, contact us at help@igotagig.com and we will issue a full refund of your first month's subscription fee. This guarantee applies to first-time subscribers only.

2.7 No Minimum Commitment, No Setup Fees

All current plans are month-to-month with no setup fee and no minimum commitment. You can cancel anytime per Section 2.5. If we ever introduce a plan with a minimum commitment or setup fee, we will clearly communicate that requirement before you complete your purchase.

3. SMS Messaging Terms — Musician Operational Messages

This section governs SMS messages sent from I Got a Gig to musician subscribers as part of normal platform operation.

3.1 Consent to Operational Messages

By subscribing to I Got a Gig, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages from our system related to the operation of your account. These messages include:

  • Show confirmation messages (acknowledging receipt of a show you texted in)
  • Cascade status updates (confirming that submissions have been generated)
  • Fan blast preview and approval messages
  • System notifications and alerts

These messages are necessary for the platform to function. You cannot opt out of operational messages while maintaining an active subscription.

3.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform. As a general guideline:

  • Each show you text in typically generates 2–4 system messages (confirmation, cascade status, fan blast preview, and approval confirmation)
  • A musician texting in 8–10 shows per month may receive approximately 20–40 system messages per month

We will not send operational messages unrelated to your account activity.

3.3 Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. I Got a Gig does not charge separately for SMS messages beyond your subscription fee.

3.4 Opting Out

To stop receiving SMS messages from I Got a Gig, you must cancel your subscription (see Section 2.5). Replying STOP to a system message will be processed as an opt-out request; however, doing so may prevent the platform from functioning correctly for your account. If you reply STOP, contact us at help@igotagig.com so we can assist you.

3.5 HELP Command

Reply HELP to any system message to receive contact information and basic service information:

"I Got a Gig — musician show distribution platform. For help: help@igotagig.com or igotagig.com. Msg & data rates may apply."

4. SMS Messaging Terms — Fan Show Announcements

This section governs the fan-facing SMS service delivered through the I Got a Gig platform. This section is specifically structured to meet Campaign Registry (TCR) requirements for A2P 10DLC SMS registration. The content of this section describes the campaign use case for TCR purposes.

Current status: Fan SMS is live. The disclosures below describe how the fan SMS service operates.

Campaign Description (TCR): I Got a Gig LLC operates an SMS-based show announcement service for musicians. Fans voluntarily opt in by texting a musician-specific keyword to that musician's dedicated long code phone number. Upon opt-in, fans receive show announcements — including venue, date, time, and calendar links — whenever the musician they follow announces a show through the I Got a Gig platform. Messages are sent on behalf of individual musician subscribers. No marketing, promotional, or third-party content is included. All fans have provided express written consent via keyword opt-in. Standard opt-out (STOP), opt-in (keyword), and HELP flows are fully implemented.

4.1 How Fan Opt-In Works

Fans opt in to receive show announcements from a specific musician by texting that musician's designated keyword (for example, QUICKENING) to that musician's dedicated I Got a Gig phone number. This keyword opt-in constitutes express written consent to receive SMS show announcement messages from that musician, delivered through the I Got a Gig platform.

Important: Opt-in is specific to one musician. Opting in to one musician's list does not enroll you in any other musician's list, nor does it enroll you in any marketing messages from I Got a Gig itself.

Fan phone numbers are collected solely through this keyword opt-in mechanism. Musicians are prohibited from importing or uploading phone numbers from outside this system (see Section 5.2).

4.2 Opt-In Confirmation Message

Upon opting in, fans immediately receive a one-time confirmation message. Example:

"All set! Check out [Musician Name]'s upcoming gigs at igotagig.com/artists/[musician]. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel."

This confirmation is sent automatically by the I Got a Gig platform and cannot be bypassed.

4.3 Message Content

Fan messages contain show announcement information only, including:

  • Musician name
  • Venue name and address
  • Show date and time
  • Supporting acts (when provided by the musician)
  • An "Add to Calendar" link
  • Optional: ticket or event link (when provided by the musician)

Fan messages do not contain commercial promotions, advertising for third parties, or content unrelated to the musician's upcoming performances.

4.4 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies by musician and depends entirely on their performing schedule — there is no fixed message frequency. To keep volume low, most announcements are bundled into a periodic digest, so one text may cover several upcoming shows; time-sensitive shows may be sent individually. Sends are held during overnight quiet hours (approximately 9pm–9am Central). Based on typical musician activity on the platform, most fans can expect to receive 1–8 messages per month. Fans who follow a particularly active musician may receive more.

"Message frequency varies. Most subscribers receive 1–8 messages per month depending on the musician's schedule."

4.5 Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan. I Got a Gig does not charge fans for receiving messages.

"Msg & data rates may apply."

4.6 How to Opt Out (STOP)

Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message to immediately unsubscribe from that musician's fan list. You will receive a single standard confirmation of your opt-out, delivered by our messaging provider, and no further messages will be sent to you from that musician.

Because each musician's list runs on its own dedicated phone number, replying STOP unsubscribes you from the list of the musician whose number you replied to. It does not affect any other musician's list you may have joined. To be removed from all I Got a Gig lists at once, contact us directly at help@igotagig.com.

Opt-out requests are processed immediately and are enforced both in our system and at the messaging-provider level. Reply START to a musician's number to re-subscribe to that musician's list at any time.

4.7 HELP Command

Reply HELP to any fan message to receive the following response:

"[Musician Name] fan list. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Help: help@igotagig.com. Reply STOP to unsubscribe."

4.8 No Third-Party Sharing of Fan Numbers

Fan phone numbers collected through the opt-in process are used solely to deliver show announcements from the musician the fan opted in to follow. Fan phone numbers are:

  • Not shared with other musicians on the platform
  • Not sold to or shared with third-party data brokers or marketing companies
  • Not used by I Got a Gig for our own marketing or promotional messages
  • Not used for any purpose other than delivering the show announcements the fan consented to receive

See our Privacy Policy at igotagig.com/privacy for full details on how we handle fan data.

4.9 Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to carrier routing and network conditions outside of I Got a Gig's control.

4.10 Supported Carriers

Our SMS service is available on all major US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and regional carriers. Availability may vary by carrier.

5. Musician Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

5.1 Accuracy of Show Information

You are responsible for the accuracy of show information you text to our system. We parse and distribute your information in good faith — we are not responsible for errors in show listings that result from inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous information you provided.

If a submission contains an error, contact us at help@igotagig.com and we will do our best to assist with a correction. We cannot guarantee that third-party publications (WWOZ, OffBeat) will accept or publish corrections.

5.2 Fan List Compliance

By using the fan SMS feature, you represent and warrant that:

  • All fans in your SMS subscriber list have opted in through the I Got a Gig keyword opt-in system
  • You will not import, upload, or otherwise introduce phone numbers from external sources (your own contact list, social media followers, purchased lists, etc.) into the I Got a Gig fan list system
  • You will not use the fan SMS feature to send content unrelated to your own show announcements — no commercial promotions, no political messages, no third-party advertising, no personal messages
  • You will comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act (to the extent applicable), and all other applicable federal and state laws governing SMS communications

Violations of this section are grounds for immediate account termination and may expose you to legal liability independent of your agreement with I Got a Gig.

5.3 Content Standards

Show information and any other content you submit through the platform must not:

  • Be false, misleading, or deceptive
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Constitute spam, unsolicited promotional content, or material unrelated to your music and performances
  • Be harassing, abusive, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory in nature

We reserve the right to decline to distribute content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these standards.

5.4 Third-Party Submissions

When I Got a Gig submits show information to WWOZ, OffBeat, or other third-party calendars on your behalf, you represent that:

  • You have the right to submit that information
  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • The submission does not violate the terms of service of the receiving platform

We act as your agent in making these submissions. Responsibility for the content of submissions remains yours. We make no guarantee that submitted content will be published — acceptance decisions are made by the respective organizations.

5.5 Prohibited Uses

You may not use I Got a Gig to:

  • Send SMS messages to any person who has not affirmatively opted in through the I Got a Gig keyword opt-in system
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with the platform's opt-in, opt-out, or HELP mechanisms
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, hack, or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise provide access to the platform to third parties
  • Impersonate another musician, venue, publication, or entity
  • Collect or harvest data from the platform beyond your own account information
  • Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable law

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to content you provide to I Got a Gig — including your bio, photos, music, show information, and any other materials. By providing content to I Got a Gig, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform on your behalf — including submitting show information to third-party calendars, sending fan SMS messages, and displaying your content on your website and any igotagig.com profile pages.

This license ends when you cancel your subscription, except to the extent we need to retain content for legal or operational purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

6.2 Our Platform

The I Got a Gig platform — including its software, cascade engine, design, brand, trademarks, and all related technology — is owned by I Got a Gig LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights in the platform to you. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the platform during your active subscription.

6.3 Fan List Data

The fan SMS subscriber list built through I Got a Gig represents fans who have opted in to receive your show announcements. We consider that list to be yours — we will not use it for any other musician or for I Got a Gig's own marketing purposes.

However, because the opt-in mechanism is tied to our phone number and platform infrastructure, the technical delivery capability is tied to an active subscription. Upon cancellation, we will provide you with your fan list data (phone numbers and opt-in dates) in a standard exportable format (CSV) within 30 days of your cancellation request. Contact help@igotagig.com to request your export.

7. Website, Digital Presence, and Tip Jar

7.0 Tip Jar

Every artist page can include a tip jar: the musician's own Venmo, Cash App, and/or PayPal handles, displayed with deep links and QR codes so fans can tip directly. Tips flow directly from the fan to the musician through those third-party payment services. I Got a Gig is not a party to tip transactions — we do not process, hold, or take any cut of tips, and we have no visibility into whether a tip was sent or received. Tip payments are governed by the terms of the payment service used (Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal), and any dispute about a tip is between the fan, the musician, and that service. Musicians are responsible for the accuracy of the payment handles they provide.

Sections 7.1–7.3 below apply to subscribers whose plan or separate agreement with us includes a custom website build.

7.1 Content Ownership

All content on your website — including your bio, photos, music, show information, and any other materials you provide — belongs to you. Website design elements, templates, and structural components created by I Got a Gig remain the property of I Got a Gig. Upon cancellation, we will provide your content in a standard format upon request within 30 days.

7.2 Custom Domains

For plans that include custom domain management, you are responsible for maintaining your domain registration with your domain registrar. I Got a Gig will manage the technical DNS configuration during your active subscription. If your domain registration lapses due to non-renewal on your end, we are not responsible for any resulting disruption to your website or digital presence.

7.3 Third-Party Integrations

Your website may include integrations with third-party services (Mailchimp, Bandcamp, Spotify, etc.). The availability and functionality of these integrations depend on the respective third-party platforms and their terms of service. We are not responsible for disruptions, changes, or discontinuation of third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

I Got a Gig is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties — express, implied, or statutory — regarding the platform.

Specifically, we do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, timely, or fully secure
  • Show submissions to WWOZ, OffBeat, or any other third-party publication will be accepted, published, or displayed — those decisions are made solely by the receiving organizations
  • SMS messages sent through the platform will be delivered immediately or at all — carrier delivery is outside our direct control
  • The platform will meet your specific needs or produce any particular business outcome

We are a small operation building something real. We will do our best and stand behind our work — but we cannot make absolute guarantees about things that are partly outside our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I Got a Gig and its owner(s), employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, missed gigs, or loss of business opportunity, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless I Got a Gig and its owner(s), employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to:

  • (a) Your use of the platform or any service we provide
  • (b) Content you provide to us, including show information and any supplemental materials
  • (c) Your violation of any provision of these Terms
  • (d) Your violation of any third party's rights
  • (e) Any TCPA violation or other SMS compliance violation arising from your use of the fan SMS feature, including any unauthorized messages or improper use of fan phone numbers

11. Termination

Cancellation by you: You may cancel your subscription at any time per Section 2.5.

Termination by us — For Cause: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without advance notice if we determine, in our reasonable judgment, that you have:

  • Violated the acceptable use provisions of Section 5
  • Used the fan SMS feature to send messages to individuals who did not opt in
  • Violated applicable law, including the TCPA
  • Engaged in fraudulent or harmful activity through the platform

Termination by us — Without Cause: We may terminate any account by providing at least 30 days' written notice by email. In the event of a without-cause termination, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused portion of your current billing period.

Effect of Termination: Upon termination of your account:

  • Your access to the platform ceases at the end of the current billing period (or immediately, in the case of for-cause termination)
  • We will provide you with your content and fan list data upon written request, within 30 days
  • We will retain and delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule
  • Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, and 12 of these Terms survive termination

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

12.1 Informal Resolution First

Before filing any legal claim against I Got a Gig, you agree to contact us at help@igotagig.com and describe the dispute in reasonable detail. We agree to give you at least 30 days to attempt informal resolution before either party initiates formal legal proceedings. We genuinely believe most issues can be resolved directly and quickly.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
  • Notify musician subscribers via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect
  • Post the updated Terms at igotagig.com/terms

Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.

Changes that improve your rights or reduce restrictions may take effect immediately. Changes that expand our rights or restrict yours will not be applied retroactively to your current billing period.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and I Got a Gig LLC regarding the I Got a Gig platform and the services we provide. They supersede any prior agreements, understandings, or representations — written or verbal — between you and I Got a Gig LLC.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
